My Spring Break started today and I’m going a little crazy. I’ve made a “to-do” list of things that I want to get done this week.

-organize cabinets in garage

-have garage sale

-clean refrigerator

-hang pictures in hallway (reason numero uno for the giant mess in the garage, so I should probably do this first)

-organize spices

-go to Hobby Lobby (never been before…who’s with me?!)

-take shoes to cobbler

-mend clothes (finished half of this task already…boom)

-go to Dunkin Donuts (I know this might not seem like a big deal to some of you, but we don’t have any here in CA and the only one we DO have is on the military base, so I’m scheming up a reason that they would let me in so that I can get my precious Munchkins.)

Every time I go on break, I try to be the most productive person I can be and make it the most exciting vacation I could have. All this to say, I become sort of a freak and have a panic attack with each passing day that my blessed vacation is almost over. So if I look a little crazed in this week’s posts, you know what’s up. 😉

Growing Up And The Importance Of Helmets

Posted on

Growing up astounds me. It seems as if you reach a point where you plateau. Where you mentally stay a certain age.

I am 31, but I still feel like I am 26. I look at my life and am completely floored that I have been married for almost 6 years and have 2 kids?! What the WHAT?! When did that happen? Why is life going so fast?!

And also, to confirm my adultness, I feel this great need to yell at kids, who are riding bikes, to wear a helmet. Don’t they know how important their little brains are?!

Yep, I’m a full-blown, rule-screaming grown up.

Ugh.

And please excuse the wrinkled skirt. I guess I’m not a full-blown ironing grown-up. 😉

Semi-Schizophrenic

Posted on

My husband laughed the other night when I picked my pillow up to fluff it. I asked him what was so funny and he said, “You are such a schedule follower. You do the same things every night with rigid accuracy and yet you are the most spontaneous person too.” Does that make me semi-schizophrenic? That I have to have my ducks in a row and yet can fly by the seat of my pants and am perfectly content when nothing gets done? In truth it just means that I am a freakishly lazy control freak. Ha! That makes perfect sense, right?

This morning though, to mix things up, I completely forgot to set an alarm and woke up an hour late. Jumping out of bed in a panic, I gathered myself together and walked out the door ten minutes later. So much for routine…
