My husband’s grandmother turned 90 this past week and we had a “Roaring 20’s” party for her. Flapper dress was suggested, but since I am 7 1/2 months pregnant, I kind of laughed at the idea. And since it was held on Friday night (the night where I’m basically out like a light at 7pm), I highly doubted that I could pull anything together. I did my best with what I had in my closet and it really helped me get in the party mood and I successfully stayed away until 9pm. SELF HIGH-FIVE!

On another totally unrelated note, I realize that my early morning riser is a very light sleeper, so if I stay in bed and don’t make any noise, he will sleep longer. So this Saturday, he slept until 8:20am! What?! Unheard of in this house!! I unfortunately woke up at 6am, but totally didn’t mind staying in bed for two hours just chillin’. Oh darn. 😉

So, I’m a huge fan of “America’s Next Top Model”. I love the behind scenes aspect and I’m not gonna lie, sometimes the drama is just too good to pass up. My favorite thing is seeing the photographs turn out at the end of the show. And a big part of that is usually done by Nigel Barker. I just recently saw a trailer for a new show (okay, maybe it’s in it’s second season and I’m just totally unaware) called “The Face” with Naomi Campbell and the handsome brit himself! WHAT?!?! That doesn’t seem right that he would go and do another show exactly like ANTM with another famous model. I would really like to know what Tyra has to say about this and if anyone else has comments or thoughts they’d like to share.

Are You Active?

The following is an actual conversation that happened at my last doctor visit…

Nurse: I have to ask, do you workout?

Me: Uh…yup, I walk.

Nurse: How often do you walk?

Me: Nevermind. Don’t put that.

Yeah, I haven’t been active very much lately, unless you count moving my spoon from the ice cream container to my mouth repetitively. I was looking back at pictures from the beginning of last year and yearning to exercise. And yes, for all you nay-sayers, I know it is possible to work out during pregnancy, I just can’t get my butt in gear lately and I seriously pulled a muscle “jogging” a mere ten feet with my five-year-old, so I’m a little wary to do anything. *sigh* Only two more months or so and then I can get moving again. But for now, I’ll just build my arm muscles up with my specialized spoon to mouth exercises. 😉
