This weekend I figured out what I want to be when I grow up. While I was thrifting, I had a brilliant idea. In the back of most thrift stores, they have lovely elderly people helping sift through and price items that have been donated. And I realized there were used puzzles on sale. I thought…how do they know that the complete puzzle is in there? And that’s when I came up with the best job description yet…I will be the puzzle putter-together-er person in the back of the store. What a lovely thought! They could set me up with a little table in the back and I would just sit there for hours doing puzzles. And I’m sure I could invite people over to join me with my job. So I’d be socializing AND doing puzzles! Brilliant!

Noonday Collection

This week I had the opportunity to attend a Noonday Collection trunk show at the lovely Nicole’s house (check out her awesome blog here). I didn’t know anything about the company before, but I am overwhelmed at the amazing impact they make on the world and poverty. Here are some facts that stood out to me:

-Noonday hires artisans from all over the world to make their products.

-Because of this partnership, the artisans are paid a “living wage” (enough to support their families, pay for education, healthcare, etc.).

-Purchasing this jewelry empowers people and their communities and allows them to create business opportunities.

-Noonday supports adoption and orphan care and if you are in the process of adopting and host a trunk show, 10% of your show sales will go towards your adoption.

Plus their jewelry is GORGEOUS! Here are some of the things I got to try on:

I loved the gold earrings I’m wearing in that picture of me, plus there are so many other items in their catalog that are calling my name. Check out their website and all their products here.

I plan on hosting a trunk show this coming December, so let me know if you’d be interested in coming.

Happy Fashion Friday!

Costumes Out The Wazoo

We enjoyed our Halloween week immensely.

On Friday night, we went to a Halloween party and I was able to dress like Rapunzel. My husband willingly dressed like Flynn Rider and I think he totally pulled it off, although there were complaints about carrying my purse (aka his satchel). Ha! The best part about being Rapunzel was getting to go barefoot.

Then on Saturday, we attended a “Hooverville Hobo-themed” birthday party, so we dressed up like hobos. Mad props again to my husband for agreeing to this and drawing on his own beard.

If you’re counting correctly…yes, I wore three different costumes this week. I like livin’ a wild life. Ha!

Hope you enjoyed yourself last week!
