I was a bridesmaid in my sweet, precious, wise, gorgeous friend Cheryl’s wedding this past weekend. It was a romantic location, perfect weather and an absolutely gorgeous event.

All the bridesmaids were allowed to pick out their own dress, as long as it was blue green. I am blown away at how well our dresses went together. And we didn’t even see them all ahead of time! I got mine at Ross for $15! Cheapest bridesmaid dress ever!

The turquoise dresses with red accents made my little heart so happy. And Cheryl’s dress was breathtaking.

I decided to do my hair in the milkmaid braid and got huge compliments on it. Yay! I even did my friend Laura & Katie’s hair. If it’s a braid, I can do it!

(I’m hoping in the near future to do a “30 Days Of Braids” with daily tutorials on different braided hairstyles. Would that interest anyone?)

Lastly it was so fun to catch up with old friends at the reception and hang out with my husband sans kiddos. He even danced on the dance floor with me, which if you know my husband is a BIG DEAL!!

Congratulations Glen & Cheryl! It is apparent to anyone who meets you how much you love each other and I’m excited for you to start your life together! God bless!

I REALLY need to think before I speak. Here’s why:

Last week, I was working at our school district office doing paperwork, etc. I should explain that during the school year I do speech therapy at a middle school, but for part of the summer, I lend an extra hand in the office with whatever they might need help with. I needed some assistance on a special project I was working on and was directed to go speak to someone in another part of the office. I went up to this person and introduced myself by saying:

“Hi, I’m Rena and I’m in Special Ed.”

No joke.

The sad thing is I didn’t even realize it until I got home and it hit me what I had done. Thankfully I don’t think the girl helping me even noticed my error. Yikes.

Color me ridiculous.

I like to talk…a lot. When I was a kid I talked too much, so my teachers moved me to the back of the class with my very own little desk, in hopes of keeping me quiet. But I just sat there in “elementary-school-solitary” and shouted out to my classmates. Needless to say, I wasn’t their favorite student. Oops. (Sorry, Ms. Fountain!)

A while back, it was pointed out to me (like I didn’t know already) that I talk with my hands. I talk so frequently with my hands that I might as well be Italian…yeesh. This informant asked me if I could talk without the use of my hands, so I sat on them. And you wouldn’t believe it, but I couldn’t talk. It’s as if my hands contain a mute button. If only my grade-school teachers knew that all it took for me to be quiet was to sit on my hands. Ha!
