Summer Sandals

First off, I greatly apologize for the lack of posts this week. I’ve had a low-grade migraine all week and haven’t felt much like typing, much less putting an outfit together.

Needless to say, I am sooooooooooooooooooooooo (is that enough “o”s?) ready for summer and relaxation. To get us in the spirit, I thought I’d do a post on 8 summer sandals that I love. I would pair any of these with some shorts or a flowy skirt and head off to the beach with magazine in hand.

Now all that’s left is to get a pedicure and display my pretty toes in some of these gorgeous sandals!

What I Love: Polka Dots

Why I Love Them

-They are classic, timeless and oh so feminine.

-They are a statement print and come in different sizes (so you can go big or little, depending on your personality).

-They are incredibly versatile and can be easily mixed with other prints.

-They are fun, youthful and completely whimsical, but can be dressed up appropriate for the work environment.

How To Wear Them

-When paired with leather, you get a feminine rocker look.

-Solid colored skinny jeans on bottom are a must.

-On an a-line flowy skirt with a lacy top.

-On a pretty sundress, with your hair in a bun.

-With a blazer and a statement necklace.

-Pair with another pattern, such as gingham, stripes or floral.

-With a boldly colored skirt and skinny belt.

-On a pair of skinny jeans, choose a smaller dot size and more subdued color, so as not to look too Minnie Mouse-y.

So get out there this week and flaunt your polka dots!

If You Like It Then You Shoulda Put A Bow On It

(I must be in a Beyonce mood this week, since this is the second week I’ve brought up one of her songs. But they’re so darn catchy!)

I know bows are sometimes considered juvenile or too young for an adult to wear, but I strongly disagree.

Here is my argument FOR the bow and four ways it could be worn:

1. With a bun for a pop of color.

2. Hold hair back slightly on side (this would work great with a set of swoopy bangs).

3. At the end of a braid.

4. At the top of a collar (instant bow tie!)

So…did I sell you? Are you going to start wearing bows?
