On The Street

I am IN LOVE with this outfit! It is super fun with bright colors and cowboy boots, but then it all gets pulled together with the blue blazer. Perfect.

Thanks for sharing, Cheryl!!

Real Life: Part 2

“Day in the Life”

6am (if I’m lucky and my 2-yr-old hasn’t woken up earlier): wake up when alarm goes off and lay in bed for another 30 minutes checking instagram, Facebook and my email.

6:30am: realize I just wasted 30 minutes while I SHOULD have been showering, stumble into the bathroom and put contacts in.

6:35am: stumble back to my room and stand in front of my closet staring at the contents. Depending on what I’m doing that day, I decide on pants or a dress. I usually pick one item first and then quickly build an outfit around it. Ideally I like to plan an outfit ahead of time, but that RARELY happens.

6:40am: pick out jewelry and shoes to go with outfit and then quickly go back to the bathroom to deal with my hair. This usually consists of just brushing it and then rushing to the kitchen.

6:45am-make kids breakfast at the same time that I make everyone lunches.

7am-quickly eat breakfast and cuddle/play with my boys

7:10am: make sure the boys have shoes (this usually requires running around the house for another five minutes trying to find a matching pair), then get backpacks and lunch boxes and buckle boys into the car.

7:20am: drive my kids to my parents house while I put on mascara and blush (yep, I’m that mom).

7:30am: arrive at work and finally breathe. 😉

Does that sound like your mornings or are you more organized/put together/prepared/less insane than us? Ha!

Happy Friday! 🙂

Warning: Things Aren’t As Daunting As They First Seem

I love braiding my hair and am not half bad at it.

I am able to do a regular braid, French braid and a Dutch braid, but the fishtail braid always escaped me.

I made it my goal to learn how to do it by the end of the year.

Not knowing where to start, I googled “how to do a fishtail braid” because that seemed like a logical place to turn for information.

A plethora of youtube videos appeared and I chose the first one.

Well, I am pleased to announce to you that after 31 years of life, I am finally able to do the fishtail braid.

And let me tell you, it’s eaaaaaaasy.

(I actually feel really dumb for not knowing how to a long time ago.)

If you don’t know how to do a fishtail braid or don’t even know what I’m talking about, feel free to watch the video here.

In fact, there are a lot of fun and informative videos made by the always lovely Lauren Conrad. My favorites are the Milk Maid Braid, Lauren’s Every Day Waves, and Ballerina Bun.

Enjoy!
