Framing This Moment

jesse & simon

My husband just finished a “Quest for Authentic Manhood” class at our church and we attended his graduation. I looked over and saw him holding our youngest son and was filled with gratefulness that I get to spend the rest of my life with this man. He is an excellent father (goodness knows what our children would be like if it was just up to me to discipline them) and I love seeing him grow in his leadership role in our family.

{Linking up with Shauna to frame this moment.}

And check out my post about hosting a clothing exchange over at Life As Mom where I’m a monthly contributor.

Add “Become A Common Criminal” To Bucket List

Today my sister locked my parents’ office door and the key is nowhere to be found. Having always wanted to pick a lock, I rushed up there with a bag of paper clips in hand. After watching five YouTube videos on how to pick locks and many failed attempts later, my husband and hungry children insisted we head home. I am determined though to figure it out and cross that skill off my bucket list, so if you lock yourself out, please give me a call BEFORE the locksmith. 😉

Any expert lock pickers reading this blog that wanna give me some tips?

Two Races In Two Days

Posted on

This past weekend I ran two races.

First was the “Run or Dye 5k”. To call this a race is laughable, since we stopped in the middle of the race to lay down and take pictures. Ha!

We were covered in chalk before we even started running.

As you “ran”, there were dye stations that you would run through and they would throw handfuls of chalk on you.

run 2

It was super fun, but I am a little afraid my armpits are now going to be permanently dyed pink.

I ran the Carlsbad 5000, also a 5k, with my friend Irene.

I honestly thought at one point in my race that I was going to pass out, but I was able to finish it in about 33 minutes, which is a time I am super proud of!

Don’t know if I’ll ever do TWO races in one weekend again, but I had a great time and will be taking it easy this week.
