I don’t have ADHD, but I DO have a LOT of energy and a HUGE imagination. The combination of the two of these “gifts” means I’ve never known what it is like to be bored. I really don’t understand how kids can say “I’m bored”. Don’t they know how many amazing things there are to do in this sweet and precious life and that there just isn’t enough time to get it all done?! Sometimes…okay, more that sometimes, but I digress…I wish I was independently wealthy and could just spend time crafting, decorating, writing, serving, dancing, fort building, song composing, outfit combining, picture taking, etc, etc. If anyone I know wins the lottery and feels like sharing, I will happily take any contributions to my non-boredom fund. 🙂

I am FINALLY on summer break, which is really good because for a while there I seriously felt like my brain was melting…no joke. The past two days of vacation have been so joyfully full of fun things/getting stuff done around the house that they have felt more like a week, which for me is just peachy. Here are a list of my favorite things about summer:

-the smell of suntan lotion (I might be creeping my kids out by how much I’m sniffing them, but gosh dang it’s the best smell in the world!)

-the whir of a fan motor (the best white noise out there)

-long days (we are going to bed so late because we just keep forgetting and not realizing how late it is because the sun is STILL up…love!!)

-the lack of laundry (my boys are living in their board shorts)

and

-ice cream, ice cream, ice cream (okay, I know that last one isn’t specifically for summer, but it tastes so much better when you have to lick it up really quickly because it’s melting in the heat)
