Yoga Me Ridiculous

I went to a yoga class with a friend the other day. It was my very first yoga class and here are my impressions:

-People wear yoga pants so that they don’t have to look at their cellulite dimples while they hold the downward dog position. I made the mistake of wearing shorts.

-The music they play is crazy hypnotizing.

-While we were laying on the floor in corpse pose and focusing our breathing and completely relaxing our muscles, my nose itched like crazy, so I just had to fight the urge to scratch it. Equal parts hilarious and ridiculous.

-I am all for any exercise that purposefully lays on the ground for five minutes at the end of the workout.

Decisions, Decisions

I started school last week and so far I have been able to be dressed every single day (Hurray for no nakedness!). My oldest started kindergarten on Monday. He’s been in preschool for the past two years, so I didn’t think it’d be that hard, but I’m not gonna lie, I shed a few tears after I dropped him off. We also have been making decisions about AM or PM kindergarten and preschool placement for my middle son and as a naturally decisive person, I am totally waffling! Is this normal?! Why are these decisions so hard to make?! I think I am placing too much emphasis on the gigantic future impact it will make on their lives, but as a first-time elementary parent, I am struggling. (Experienced parents, you can laugh at me now.)

Last Meal

I am OBSESSED with cookie butter. I will eat it by the spoonful: original, crunchy or mixed with chocolate. If you haven’t discovered the beauty that is cookie butter, I suggest you track down your nearest Trader Joe’s and drive (even if it is two hours away) and buy it immediately! If I was in some sort of situation that I had to choose my last meal, I would 100% for sure include cookie butter in one way or another. What would you request for your last meal? Don’t think about the possible execution part that would gruesomely follow, just the delicious food that you could consume beforehand.

I know that normally I have some clever “verbal vomit” to put out with each post, but things have been so nuts lately, so I figured I’d just catch you up on my life happenings:

-I entered a black and white portrait of my husband into the fair photography contest. I’m really hoping I get in, but most of all I can’t WAIT for the fair to start!

-We celebrated two birthdays this weekend (my niece and my dad), so my belly is contently full of celebratory sugary desserts.

-We are making a hallway to nowhere in our house (long story…I’ll explain later), so we spent a good part of the weekend texturing, priming and painting. I’m beat.

-I am pretty sure I am giving birth to a baby ninja or an octopus. Either way, he NEVER stops moving. And I can’t wait to meet him. :)

End Of An Era

Okay, I realize what I’m going to say right now is going to make me sound really old, but is any one else super saddened by Blockbuster closing?! It feels like the end of an era. It baffles me that kids will never know what it’s like to go to a video store and roam the aisles for an hour trying to decide on something to rent. I have so many good memories of going to Blockbuster during college with friends debating which movie was the best and why our movie of choice should be the one to rent. I get it that Netflix/Redbox/Amazon Prime is so much more convenient, but it’s not the same. Am I alone in this sadness?! At least I didn’t get this depressed when VHS went practically extinct. Ha!

Can’t Even See The Light At The End Of The Tunnel

Well, hello there! I absolutely and unintentionally took a break for the last couple of weeks. This third trimester kinda hit me like a brick. All that tiredness that I never got before caught up with me. Also, we have started redoing parts of our house, so for the last three weeks, my house has been in a dusty, crazy state of movement and construction. I’m 34 weeks now (in case you were keeping count) and when people are told how far along I am, I seriously want to punch them when they say “You’re so close!” Seriously?! Uh…maybe if I said 38 weeks, but I’ve still got a month and a half to go! Blerg. Please bear with me and my anxiousness to meet this little boy and not be pregnant anymore. :)

So, I’m a huge fan of “America’s Next Top Model”. I love the behind scenes aspect and I’m not gonna lie, sometimes the drama is just too good to pass up. My favorite thing is seeing the photographs turn out at the end of the show. And a big part of that is usually done by Nigel Barker. I just recently saw a trailer for a new show (okay, maybe it’s in it’s second season and I’m just totally unaware) called “The Face” with Naomi Campbell and the handsome brit himself! WHAT?!?! That doesn’t seem right that he would go and do another show exactly like ANTM with another famous model. I would really like to know what Tyra has to say about this and if anyone else has comments or thoughts they’d like to share.
