My hair sometimes gets dry and brittle and needs a little extra attention. When this happens, I deep condition it with coconut oil. It’s cheap and easy to do. All you need is some coconut oil and a shower cap. You could also use a towel and blow dryer. (continue reading over at Life As Mom…)

Everyone loves going to the salon and being pampered. Sometimes though, it’s overwhelming and terrifying going in for a new cut or color. Here are some tips on making your visit to the salon a satisfying experience.
1. Use Pinterest or magazines for inspiration.
Tear out pictures from magazines of cuts or color that you like or create a Pinterest board to save styles you’re interested in. Always take in a visual with you to show the stylist. This helps to convey the look you are going for because everyone has a different idea of what color blond or brown is. Hairstylists speak a different language than most people (“brassy”, etc.), so a picture will cut down on the confusion and communicate exactly what you want.
2. Find A Great Stylist
If you see someone whose hair color or cut you like, ask them who did their hair. Finding a fantastic stylist that can tell you what looks good on your face shape, goes with your skin color, etc. is an amazing discovery. Once you find a skilled stylist, trust them and ask them for advice on what kind of cut works with your hair type or if the cut/color you picked out works for you. (continue reading…)

There is always that time period after giving birth when your hormones are out of whack and getting back to normal. The worst thing that happens during this time is that your hair starts falling out in droves. You should see how much hair is all over the floor of my home. It’s absolutely ridiculous. I’m pretty sure in the next couple of weeks I’m going to be bald. Anyone wanna go wig shopping with me? ;)
Now this post will seem silly to all you curly-haired ladies out there, but learning this little trick has revolutionized my morning routine. I love how I look with curly hair, but it always takes forever. Well not anymore! Here is how you can be date/work ready in only 5 minutes! (continue reading at Life is Mom)
I know how it is to run out of the house and realize that you haven’t brushed your hair…or your children’s hair for that matter. (Maybe there’s a reason God has blessed me with little boys….)
I also know how tempting it is to hit the snooze button two, okay…five times before you’re rushing out the door with only enough time to make sure you have the same shoes on. But I know that any outfit, no matter what you have on, will look that much more spectacular if you have your hair done.
Here are six easy hairstyles that can make you look incredibly put together, but only take a couple minutes to accomplish. [Continue reading over at lifeasmom.com...]
During hot summer months, do you find yourself turning to the ponytail as a quick up-do to get your hair off your neck?
Well, here is a super easy alternative.
All you need is a scarf (or long piece of fabric) and a hair clip. If you’re clever, you could probably get the same effect with a hairband or bobby pins.
Start by tying the scarf around your head, leaving your hair hanging down your back. If your scarf isn’t that long, start tying in the back, so it’ll be able to tie at the top of your head.
Tie in a knot or bow at the top of your head a little off to the side. Looks good just like this, right? I would agree if it was Fall, but my neck is screaming at me that it’s hot, so let’s continue…
Twist the remainder of your hair into a slight bun and clip it at the top. If you feel so inclined, leave some hair hanging free in the front. The messier the better, in my opinion.
Then tuck the clip into the scarf to hide it. And you’re done!
How easy was that? And super stylish!
Hope you’re enjoying your summer and spending as much time outdoors as possible!
Happy Fashion Friday!
